Health and Family

Well all my exercising and getting fit has fallen by the wayside. I have been diagnosed with coronary artery disease after a lot of tests. It turns out that my arteries supplying my heart are all very tiny and narrow so now I have to watch what I eat, give up the fags and then get fit slowly. Well the fags have gone and I will be back to the gym this week to start on the exercises again. DH did take my photo before all this heart stuff started and boy I do look like a blimp on a 5'3" frame. I am nearly as round as I am tall.




My daughter in law, Kristie produced a gorgeous little girl on 6th August so the family is increasing. This makes 2 children that my son, Colin has. Her name is Addison Mia and she is a replica of her big brother Brodie when he was born. I need to go and get some girly fabric now to make her first quilt. Need to have it done by mid November. This Brodie at 14months with Bundie his pig dog.




Our daughter, Tamzine and her husband Adam, in Airlie Beach will be down in November so need to finish her quilt as well. It only needs to be quilted and then bound. I have the wadding for it, so I just need to find the backing and then take it to Jan the quilter.

2nd day and other things

Boy do those weight machines make your muscles sore. I tried out all the weight machines and they all do different body parts, more legs and arms. I really had a workout this am and the thighs are still sore from it all.

My mini round robin arrived home this am and it is divine and i love it. i have signed up for the roosting robin as well and will start on that this week end.

Our poor dd and dsil moved up to airlie beach late january and they have only had about 5 sunny days since they have been there. At least they are both working and have things to do.

Getting Healthy/Fit

Today was my first day at Fernwood Gym. To say it was different is stretching it. I am not a very active person but one who thought that I was ok in the fitness department but after a heart scare in December 2007 and the exercise stress test that i could not complete I realized that it was time to do something about it.

As Fernwood is only 5 minutes up the road from me I decided that it was it. I went last week and checked it out and came away very impressed with it and the staff.

Today was my first visit for a work out session. I used the rowing machine for 500 strokes on level 4 which took me 3.25minutes, treadmill speed 4 incline 1.5% for 5 minutes, bike level 3 reps mer min 75 5 minutes, x-trainer and i did work up a sweat with them all. I really enjoyed the rower and the x-trainer really works the thighs.

I go again tomorrow at 8am to learn how to use the weights and what weights i need to use.

DH is going to take a piccie of me in the bloomers and bra and all my measurements so that i can stick it on my wall in my sewing room and then to check each month what the differnce is in the measurements.

I am not doing this to loose weight but to get fit and healthy and I realise that i will loose weight and change body shape with all this and it can only get me healthier.
